Fahrenheit 451 help!?

I'm doing a project on Fahrenheit 451 and i have to explain why new firemen should join 451. I'm really confused! Is 451 like the name of Montag's fireman troupe or something. I don't know whether to put why they should be firemen or why they should go to his station or what. Help!
