How can I improve my athletic ability for basketball?

I love to play basketball but am not a great athlete as I don't have a great athletic body as I inherited the body of my family which is a very slight build and lack thing such as the quick twitch muscles that a basketball player needs. I have taken sports performances courses such as Velocity (www.velocitysp.com) which helps people develop their athletic ability and also done regular worksouts at gyms such as Bally's and bought thigns such as platform shoes to help my leaping ability. However I have not improved my athletic ability at all. Thus I am not much of a dribbler and can't really control the ball like a PG like Allen Iverson or someone on the And one Mixtape Tour such as Hot Sauce or the Professor and don't have great court vision and ability to find the open man (although I realize that is a gift or must be developed). I have a very slow release on my jump shot as well. Is there anything I can do to improve my athletic ability so I can be a good basketball player?
