Help me find some kind of good solid floor affordable?

hi i am looking for a solid floor to put in a rental so it should be costly and just easily cover all floors better if i can trim it myself as well my land lord first seemed like it would be ok then called a manager over seas and they said dont do it thing is i really really want the solid flooring in and i want to find any way to do it easily i will do it myself with help or hire a professional but if i can do it myself and just by putting in slabs and then trimming some kind of border or whatever i will do it it sounds great. it just has to be something that isnt glued directly to the only foundation that would be a bit complicated so i can just tell land lord i found a way to make it clean and replaceable.
