Guitar stompbox order?

I've been playing guitar for about 4 or 5 years(electric for 2 1/2). i've been using a roland amp w/ on board effects. those effects are nice cause there easy to use and transport, but my ears have outgrown them. I'm begining to put together a pedal board now. I have a powered board that will power 8 pedals. I also have a metal distortion pedal and a tube overdive. i plan to use the overdrive for my softer stuff and then kick on the metal distortion for, well, metal. I'm not sure which pedal should go first(od?). anyway I'm also gonna add a delay, phaser/flanger, an eq, and maybe wah. If you guys could sugggest which effects to invest in first and what oder to put them in I'd appreciate it. I play mostly rythym for anything from worship music to epic/speed metal. thanks
