I broke my TIB and Fib both bones in my lower leg....Still waiting for surgery have to stabilize first... can?

Hi. I do not tend to take part in stuff like this, but felt i needed to answer this to help you out. I am going to ume that you have done this recently. There are a few reasons why surgery would be put off but mostly it is due to swelling of the limb. They cannot make an incision until the swelling is way down otherwise they will have difficulty to close the wound up. Which of course could lead to wound complications like infections, non healing. Keep the limb elevated & move your toes as this will help reduce the swelling. If you have an open area close to the fracture that will also need to heal to prevent other complications, like infection in the metal they may use for repair. It really is for the best.
