My preference is tortoise and not aquatic turtle. can anyone suggest me places that i can refer to?

you can just visit your Local Pet Store and ask them for some referral. There are also some online stores that ships tortoises but i'd rather take a look at specimens personally before I buy any. I did not include your location on your question so its hard to suggest.
